Me

HELLO!

My name is Rachel Elizabeth and I am a part of one of the most wonderful group of people I've ever met, known as "Indevours." Together, we plan to save the world... we're kind of a bunch of over achievers. But in reality, we are made up of 34 very unique, inspiring, passionate individuals who all have different interests and dreams. After leaving high school I was warned that I would be "just another number" - 20303613. I never dreamed of having the same intense relationships with a group of classmates as I did in my high school days. And then I was welcomed with loving, open arms into the International Development Program at the University of Waterloo. This is an incredibly unique program because it brings us together, forces us to create a community that we can lean on, grow with, and trust. I can honestly say this program and these people have changed my life.

So right now I am currently in my fourth year of University. After a long year at Carleton University I realized it simply was not the place for me. So I applied to get into the International Development program at the University of Waterloo, and three years later I am positive I'm in the right place. I recently turned 22, and I don't feel a day over 12. When I was young I thought I would be so sophisticated, intelligent and accomplished by the time I hit my early 20's. FALSE. I do not have it all together, I am incredibly impulsive, I know very little, and I'm just as wild as I was four years ago. But, I am slowly realizing this is the good part. There is no rush to be successful, and on top of the world. It's all about getting there that builds who you really are, your character and figuring out what is truly important to you. Right now I am very content, and extremely excited for what this big beautiful world has to offer me in my many years to come! And yes, in a few short months I will be embarking on the greatest adventure of my life to date - MALAWI, AFRICA - and I can't wait!!!

  2. I am most definitely on the same page about my experience with the INDEVOURS - the fact that I would be just a number and nobody would hold my hand through life once university started was DRILLED into me by high school.

Little did they know... I would become part of the great St Paul's community, a part of INDEVOURS (some of the greatest people I've ever met), and that I would have people like Rachel to hold my hand through all the rough times and all-nighters! And now... GET READY FOR MALAWI.

PS I wish you had a caption on your photos so I could see where they're from! (The one where you're in the woods)
